Najwa Karam Fashion on Arabs Got Talent Season 3

Every season, Lebanese singer and Arabs Got Talent judge, Najwa Karam sets the fashion bar higher.
She shun and dazzled throughout this season with poise and class, and there's no doubt that millions of people look up to her for fashion inspiration.
For the first live show, Najwa wore a long black embroidered velvet dress by Maria Lucia Hohan, it's clear that Najwa added her own touch to the dress by removing the straps and making amends to a few other things, and I'm so glad she did so! It definitely highlighted her slender figure and the skeleton-like embroideries enhanced her features

For the second live show, Najwa Karam glowed in a Naeem Khan F/W 13 Ready To Wear gown, the top half had silver embellishments, and the bottom half was plain black fabric, with a little black belt-like section to accentuate the waist. Again, it's quite evident that some changes were made to the dress.
She was like a ray of sunshine, and there's no surprise as to why she's nicknamed 'The Sun of the Song'.

The only female judge on the panel wore this blue strapless, floor-grazing gown with asymmetric hemline by Safiyaa, I loved the draped one-side peplum detail and the contrast bodice and thought it made her appear more curvy, but felt the dress was a little too bridesmaid-y, I didn't think it was Najwa Karam standard, but I guess it was good to see her in something different. Change is good.

I'm not sure who designed this black v-neck maxi gown, and I'm not so keen on this one as a dress, I didn't really understand its concept, there seems to be a back/shoulder cover attached at the front, which I assume is something that was attached on for her, it just looked like a few bits stuck together, but it definitely made me come to the conclusion that Najwa Karam can make any dress look flaw-free!

For the 5th episode, the singer opted for a bronze one shoulder Marchesa gown from their A/W 12 collection. I thought this one was even worse than the previous, mainly because the colour seemed too dull and didn't stand out in anyway, I would have preferred it if the shoulder section was left as it was, and I wasn't a fan of the hip detailing, but if anything, again, it should have been left as it was. Change wasn't for the best this time.

And just as I was beginning to think it was all going to be doom and gloom for Najwa's dresses, Lanvin saved the day! I absolutely adore this one and the changes that have been made, made this green scarf embellished satin gown look immaculate! It had been taken in at the waist, which adds literally everything to the dress, it's not at all exaggerated, it just gracefully shows off her body. Class, chic, elegance and I've found a favourite.

Obviously, she was saving the best 'til last, as she dazzled in this custom made metallic Zuhair Murad gown with sequins cross-sectioned across the front, and the fabric behind the sequins just completed it perfectly. I had been waiting for this kind of dress all season long! This is the kind of dress that I'd associate with Najwa Karam, and I didn't expect anything less for a season finale. Nobody tops Zuhair Murad. Period.

Najwa Karam at Jerash Festival wearing Zuhair Murad

'The Sun of the Arabian Song' and Arabs Got Talent judge, Najwa Karam made headlines at the Annual Jerash Festival for Culture and Art, as she shun in a metallic dress, designed by the Lebanese fashion designer, Zuhair Murad.
It is evident to see that it was a highly anticipated event, as people from all over the Middle East travelled to Amman, Jordan, to witness the legend, that is Najwa Karam, not only for her great voice and songs but also for her chic and classy sense in fashion and her kind-hearted nature. It's clear that she has her presence, wherever she goes!

The top half of the dress is part of Zuhair Murad's Spring Summer 2013 Haute Couture collection.
I loved all of the intricate metallic detailing, that were all layered on the sides of the dress to form an almost feathery look, which represents virtues, symbolising charity, hope and faith, and these are three of the many features that Miss Karam is associated with - which is myself over analysing Najwa Karam's dress choice.

I believe that the second half of the dress was designed especially for Najwa Karam, as the original design was in fact a leotard. It was fitted perfectly to suit her figure, enhancing her features and flaunting them beautifully - the metallic 'feathers' on the sides help to make the waist appear smaller, hence, making the upper part of her body and hip area look bigger, giving her that 'hour-glass' figure that every woman strives to get. It's a mermaid-style dress, as it also goes in at the knees - where again, making the hips bigger - and spreads out gradually at the bottom, with an appropriately lengthed trail.

You can tell it was a great show when the diva is smiling this much!

Fashion at the Murex D'Or 2013

The Murex D'Or is an annual Lebanese award that was made in recognition of achievements in the domain of art in Lebanon and the Arab region.
Many Arabic stars attended this year's event, whether it was to accept an award or to give out an award, and one thing was for sure, when it came to fashion, there was a lot of controversy!

Arab Idol judge and Lebanese songstress, Nancy Ajram, certainly got it right, she wore a blue Balmain gown for the event. The look is simple, yet elegant, and it complements her petite figure perfectly... Effortlessly attracting the eyes of the audience. I liked strips that go in opposite directions around the waist, making it appear smaller, adding to the 'hour-glass' figure that most women want.

I'm unsure as to who designed this dress worn by Lebanese singer and actress, Cyrine Abdel Nour. I have mixed views about this particular dress, it looks a little 80's-ish and I think it definitely makes her look good and flaunts her body beautifully. I especially love the dress from the waist and under, all the detailing at the bottom and how the trail is not too long and not too short - perfect length for the occasion. Having said that, the top of the dress was a bit of a mess.

X Factor Arabia judge and 'Asaad Wahda' singer, Elissa, wore a white and silver Marchesa gown. I liked how she didn't overdress and nor did she under dress for the event, I felt it was just the right amount of sparkle with the intricate embellishments and the wrap that turned it into a one-shouldered dress and trailed off... She surely didn't fail to impress as she dazzled on the red carpet and on stage!

Maya Diab definitely opted for a rather risqué look, striking a lot of controversy... I'm not so keen on the excessive see-through-ness, however I do like the style of the dress, it's figure hugging, and I guess with a body like Maya Diab's, anything would look good! I definitely like the two lion heads on the top part of the dress, it's very fierce and brings out Maya's fiery personality.

...one of the biggest fashion crimes of all time.
Was it for attention, or general bad taste in clothing? If it was for attention, then Pamela El Kik got it for sure - for all the wrong reasons. I don't understand the concept of the whole excessively beaded bustier and the clash of colours on the bottom half the dress. Mess.

Keeping the best dress 'til last, Arabic singer Lara Scandar, looked ever so beautiful wearing this Elie Saab Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear number, I loved the colour of the dress - even though royal blue is a colour that is mostly associated with winter, the nude undertones certainly lighten it up and add to its elegance. I loved the simple fabric detailing on the top half of the dress, and the different shades of blue strips on the bottom. By far, my favourite dress of the night!

Najwa Karam in Zuhair Murad for New Years' Eve 2012

Lebanese singer, Najwa Karam is one of the Best Selling Recording Artists in the Middle East, having sold over 50 million records worldwide. It is not only her music that we love, but there are thousands among thousands of women, including myself, that love to see what she's going to wear next.
Now, Najwa Karam is considered to be a fashion icon, as many women look up to her for style inspiration.

The Diva looked like a Queen yesterday, in a custom made Zuhair Murad gown. Najwa Karam and Zuhair Murad work perfectly together, seen as though every single dress he designs for her is a master piece in itself and she's frequently seen wearing a Zuhair Murad gown in her concerts and public appearances... You can check out a few of the other dresses she has worn in my previous posts.

The Lebanese songstress looked very sophisticated and elegant wearing a long, off-white, sequinned, low cut shoulder sleeved dress at a New Years' Eve party in Abu Dhabi that she performed at with Iraqi singer, Kathem El Saher.
The dress had a slight trail at the back with tapered fabric in the middle of the dress, which accentuated the waist giving her the hour-glass figure that every woman aspires to get.

It's safe to say that Najwa Karam owned the stage wearing that dress, and I can't wait to see what this forthcoming year holds for this Lebanese sweetheart, in-terms of fashion.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about your favourite celebrity's dresses, and Happy New Year... The best is yet to come!
