Najwa Karam Fashion on Arabs Got Talent Season 4

Najwa Karam is possibly the number one most anticipated TV personality; her fashion choices never lack elegance and class, making her the ultimate style inspiration and fashion icon for millions of Arab women, and Arabs Got Talent is our best source, as Miss Karam continuously sets the bar higher as she takes the opportunity to showcase her beautiful offstage style over the course of 13 consecutive weeks.

For the first episode of the live shows, Najwa Karam opted for this lime-green coloured long-sleeved bandage top and matching knee-long skirt from the Herve Leger Pre-Spring 2014 collection, featuring grey embroideries and zips down both pieces.
Such a fun, fresh and season-appropriate colour , however my only problem with it was the length of the skirt, which was too long for my personal liking, but I can get over that as everything else was jaw-droppingly-perfect!

As the second episode came, it brought with it an ill-tasting dress that I have no pleasant words in describing, except for its neckline and shape. which I found to be very flattering on the judge.
The dress featured two ruffled flowers on one side and one on the opposite side, which are the reason I found the dress to be quite disappointing; I believe it would have definitely been more tolerable if all of the ruffled flowers were aligned on the same side.

For the next episode which coincided with Valentine's day, Najwa wore this dreamy optic multi-coloured ripple jacquard number by Herve Leger. The sleeveless dress, which was from the brand's pre-spring 2015 collection, featured a crew neck opening and a body-con silhouette, which the brand is very much famous for.
This was possibly my favourite outfit choice so far, however, I really was hoping for something more valentine-y like this, although Najwa Karam has the ability to put anyone in a romantic and loving mood with her presence, alone.

A breathtaking new haircut and outfit choice came along with the 4th live episode, which made this lady look like she was turning 29 and not 49.
The Roland Mouret figure-flattering one-shouldered wool-crepe gown featured a peplum waist, which accentuated and defined her waist and hips, and a folded detailing at the asymmetrical neckline.
It was simply a look sculptured to perfection.

The Lebanese songstress was the epitome of class and sophistication in this velvet Bassam Nehme gown for the 5th episode of the semi-finals. The silhouette-enhancing gown featured a cutout detail at the chest; a trend which we have been continuously seeing on runways for the past couple of years. This element essentially added to the femininity of the dress and set it apart.
The only aspect of the dress that I didn't find appealing was the bow at the waist, as otherwise, I thought it was a very tasteful choice.

Hand in hand with fellow judge, she steps out a Disney film, wearing a full-skirted ballerina dress with a mid-sleeved cutaway top. In all poise and effortlessness, she glides to the centre of the stage. The humble title of "Sun of the Song, Najwa Karam" is called out as apposed to her more formal title of 'Her Majesty, Queen of the Lebanese Republic' and she acknowledges the existence of the audience with a wave and a self-assured smile.
She sits down, back straight, and the camera zooms on her, she, the ever gracious and eternally ageless member of Lebanese royalty as she serves us an overwhelming amount of pearls, glitter, sequins, 2 shades of purple gemstones and 30 pounds of weave all at once.

Whew. Clearly a fan of the vibe it gave, I wasn't fond of the gown, although I did warm to it as the show went on. I believe it would have been made mile better without the cutaway top or without the sleeves at least, as although it balances out the shape and is in fact on trend, it was nothing like I had hoped.

Fashion on New Year's Eve 2014

As 2014 came to an end, apparently so did my time keeping. But I guess it's better late than never, right? So here goes...
 Happy New Year, everyone!
Every year, in the Arab regions of the Middle East and North Africa, the most highly anticipated concerts take place. I always anticipate what the female celebrities are going to opt for, and it wasn't a surprise or a change for any of them this year.
The following are a select few.

In no particular order, I'm going to start with my new found obsession; Myriam Fares, whose name has almost become a synonym with the Lebanese fashion designer, Rami Kadi.

Despite the simplicity of this custom-made dress, Myriam looked nothing short of flawless in it. The floor-grazing skirt flowed with a slight puff and the top part was a straight across silver bodice.
However what really attracted me to the look and almost every look seen on this beauty is the unique and luxurious jewellery that she matches with it. For me, Myriam Fares is the Queen of Accessories.
Follow her on Instagram and you'll understand!

Although this is nothing I would opt for myself, there is not doubt that Myriam Fares can look good in just about anything.

Next up, a lady who never fails to make an appearance in my articles, and can you blame me?
Najwa Karam proved why she was named a 'Fashion Icon' with this off-white form-fitting mermaid style gown, showcasing her hourglass figure. This is a style that I will never get tired of seeing on her, as she carries it with such poise, grace and supreme elegance.
The one-shouldered gown featured intricate symmetrical Swarovski crystal embellishments all throughout; the best choice for a New Year's party.

She accessorised it with simple bell-shaped earrings and a ring!

Representing a meringue, was Nawal El Zoghbi, wearing a ball gown style white dress designed by Zuhair Murad for the occasion. I found the top part of it to be very elegant, especially with the V neck opening and the silver belt, which gave the illusion of a slimmer waist, especially as it dramatically puffed out. Having said that however, I felt the dress was more fit for a wedding than a concert. Even the belt had 'wedding' written all over it.
I generally love to see silver, gold, white and anything sparkly being worn on a New Year's Eve party, but this dress was just the wrong shape.

Otherwise, I have been so impressed by Zoghbi's recent outfit choices, ever since 2014's Murex D'or Awards - or rather so impressed by Zuhair Murad's immaculate Fall 2014 Couture collection that it has become second nature.

Another star opting for Zuhair Murad but looking like a jewel, was Haifa Wehbe, who wore this silver silhouette-enhancing, form-fitting gown from the designer's Fall 2014 Couture collection, featuring long sleeves and an utterly mesmerising beaded silver body, which dispersed into transparency nearer the bottom of the dress. She obviously discarded the train that was originally attached to it via the belt, which she also discarded, and for me, this gave a whole new meaning to the dress. I definitely liked that she changed it from its original runway look to ensure individuality.

Where would we be without Zuhair Murad?

Looking like a Bohemian Princess was Sabine, wearing a greeny-gold embroidered long sleeved Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear tulle dress designed by one of my favourite fashion designers; Emilio Pucci. However keeping the plunging V neck covered, she kept the high thigh slit which revealed her shapely legs and most importantly, her heels and I’m so glad she did because they deserve an article in their own right.

Personally, I think what this look lacked was the appropriate hairstyle to suit boho-inspired silhouette of the gown, or a belt added  to give a more hour-glass shape to suit the hairstyle she had.

Going back to black was Nancy Ajram who kept it simple and elegant in this backless black gown designed by Azzedine Alaia with a halter opening at the top, a slight but broad cinch around the waist and a slightly puffed skirt which all worked beautifully as it gave shape to her petite figure.

And when they said ‘It’s all in the details’ they weren’t lying, because the little bits of glitter on the second half definitely made a difference to the dress and added to its glamour factor.
