Najwa Karam Fashion on Arabs Got Talent Season 4

Najwa Karam is possibly the number one most anticipated TV personality; her fashion choices never lack elegance and class, making her the ultimate style inspiration and fashion icon for millions of Arab women, and Arabs Got Talent is our best source, as Miss Karam continuously sets the bar higher as she takes the opportunity to showcase her beautiful offstage style over the course of 13 consecutive weeks.

For the first episode of the live shows, Najwa Karam opted for this lime-green coloured long-sleeved bandage top and matching knee-long skirt from the Herve Leger Pre-Spring 2014 collection, featuring grey embroideries and zips down both pieces.
Such a fun, fresh and season-appropriate colour , however my only problem with it was the length of the skirt, which was too long for my personal liking, but I can get over that as everything else was jaw-droppingly-perfect!

As the second episode came, it brought with it an ill-tasting dress that I have no pleasant words in describing, except for its neckline and shape. which I found to be very flattering on the judge.
The dress featured two ruffled flowers on one side and one on the opposite side, which are the reason I found the dress to be quite disappointing; I believe it would have definitely been more tolerable if all of the ruffled flowers were aligned on the same side.

For the next episode which coincided with Valentine's day, Najwa wore this dreamy optic multi-coloured ripple jacquard number by Herve Leger. The sleeveless dress, which was from the brand's pre-spring 2015 collection, featured a crew neck opening and a body-con silhouette, which the brand is very much famous for.
This was possibly my favourite outfit choice so far, however, I really was hoping for something more valentine-y like this, although Najwa Karam has the ability to put anyone in a romantic and loving mood with her presence, alone.

A breathtaking new haircut and outfit choice came along with the 4th live episode, which made this lady look like she was turning 29 and not 49.
The Roland Mouret figure-flattering one-shouldered wool-crepe gown featured a peplum waist, which accentuated and defined her waist and hips, and a folded detailing at the asymmetrical neckline.
It was simply a look sculptured to perfection.

The Lebanese songstress was the epitome of class and sophistication in this velvet Bassam Nehme gown for the 5th episode of the semi-finals. The silhouette-enhancing gown featured a cutout detail at the chest; a trend which we have been continuously seeing on runways for the past couple of years. This element essentially added to the femininity of the dress and set it apart.
The only aspect of the dress that I didn't find appealing was the bow at the waist, as otherwise, I thought it was a very tasteful choice.

Hand in hand with fellow judge, she steps out a Disney film, wearing a full-skirted ballerina dress with a mid-sleeved cutaway top. In all poise and effortlessness, she glides to the centre of the stage. The humble title of "Sun of the Song, Najwa Karam" is called out as apposed to her more formal title of 'Her Majesty, Queen of the Lebanese Republic' and she acknowledges the existence of the audience with a wave and a self-assured smile.
She sits down, back straight, and the camera zooms on her, she, the ever gracious and eternally ageless member of Lebanese royalty as she serves us an overwhelming amount of pearls, glitter, sequins, 2 shades of purple gemstones and 30 pounds of weave all at once.

Whew. Clearly a fan of the vibe it gave, I wasn't fond of the gown, although I did warm to it as the show went on. I believe it would have been made mile better without the cutaway top or without the sleeves at least, as although it balances out the shape and is in fact on trend, it was nothing like I had hoped.

Najwa Karam at World of Fashion 2014 Event Advertisement

If you think that I look for an excuse to make a post featuring Najwa Karam... you're probably right.
Since Najwa Karam has been named the guest of honour at the Harper's Bazaar World of Fashion 2014 event at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, it gives me the rightful excuse to write a post featuring the eternally graceful Queen of Fashion and Elegance.
After continuous success as a singer and now after three seasons as a judge on MBC's Arabs Got Talent, the diva has been increasingly recognised for her successful fashion choices and many would identify her as a modern day fashion icon.
"Najwa Karam is very well known. She captivates audiences with her presence, grace and style. She has made a strong name for herself in the Arab World as a singer, and we are very optimistic and very happy to collaborate with Najwa Karam this year... looking forward to the best outcome." - Hussain Moosa, Associate Director for Mall of the Emirates (Emirates 24/7). Ms Karam will be there at the fashion finale on the 22nd of October in a public Q&A with the attendees so save the date!
(and lets hope she will be revealing an album release date because the well-being of my ears depends on it).

If we can all just remember the wise words of Karl Lagerfeld that said 'Think pink but don't wear it'... That's basically my outlook on this crepe dress by Roland Mouret. It was like they went overboard with the pink and accidentally spilled too much and it just became too concentrated for my taste. I thought the overall style of the dress was rather bland, except the off-the-shoulder silhouette which added to her femininity and saved the dress from completely burning.

I must have spent half an hour replaying and admiring the part where she gracefully twirls in this fringed wool-blend dress from Lanvin's Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear collection when the video was first uploaded.
The colour palette - which is completely suitable to the season - and gradient is so well put together in this dress and adds to the delicate movement fabricated by the varying sizes of the fringing. Something I would probably not opt for at first glance but works magic!

I think this a-line dress from Gucci's Fall 2014 collection explains itself; bead embroidered silver bodice and rose gold sleeves on top of a silk cady top and a leather skirt. It has a perfect balance of simplicity and complexity. However, not suited for top-heavy type figures, as clearly, it highlights the top part of the body like encrusted diamonds.

When I named Najwa Karam the Queen of Fashion and Elegance, I obviously wasn't joking.
Because last and certainly not least, this patterned gold dress from Jenny Packham's Fall 2014 collection looks so flattering and graceful and is beautifully fitted to the diva's figure, it was just different from all of the styles featured in the advertisement/photoshoot and without a doubt my favourite. Najwa gives this dress a whole new flavour and I love it!
I liked how there was a variety of designers featured and the dresses were all from their most recent collections (at the time of the shoot).

Like that wasn't enough to make me want to attend, the event will feature twenty catwalk shows throughout the two weeks, with high-street fashion brands including Kate Spade, Sandro, Juicy Couture, Karen Millen, Ted Baker, to name a few, and Harvey Nichols will also be there to open and close the event!
Lebanese make-up artist Bassam Fattouh will host a booth at the shopping centre for beauty advise and demos and free makeovers, as he shares his expertise with the attendees on the 21st!
Anyone got a spare plane ticket to Dubai!?

As always, thank you for reading.

Najwa Karam Fashion on Arabs Got Talent Season 3

Every season, Lebanese singer and Arabs Got Talent judge, Najwa Karam sets the fashion bar higher.
She shun and dazzled throughout this season with poise and class, and there's no doubt that millions of people look up to her for fashion inspiration.
For the first live show, Najwa wore a long black embroidered velvet dress by Maria Lucia Hohan, it's clear that Najwa added her own touch to the dress by removing the straps and making amends to a few other things, and I'm so glad she did so! It definitely highlighted her slender figure and the skeleton-like embroideries enhanced her features

For the second live show, Najwa Karam glowed in a Naeem Khan F/W 13 Ready To Wear gown, the top half had silver embellishments, and the bottom half was plain black fabric, with a little black belt-like section to accentuate the waist. Again, it's quite evident that some changes were made to the dress.
She was like a ray of sunshine, and there's no surprise as to why she's nicknamed 'The Sun of the Song'.

The only female judge on the panel wore this blue strapless, floor-grazing gown with asymmetric hemline by Safiyaa, I loved the draped one-side peplum detail and the contrast bodice and thought it made her appear more curvy, but felt the dress was a little too bridesmaid-y, I didn't think it was Najwa Karam standard, but I guess it was good to see her in something different. Change is good.

I'm not sure who designed this black v-neck maxi gown, and I'm not so keen on this one as a dress, I didn't really understand its concept, there seems to be a back/shoulder cover attached at the front, which I assume is something that was attached on for her, it just looked like a few bits stuck together, but it definitely made me come to the conclusion that Najwa Karam can make any dress look flaw-free!

For the 5th episode, the singer opted for a bronze one shoulder Marchesa gown from their A/W 12 collection. I thought this one was even worse than the previous, mainly because the colour seemed too dull and didn't stand out in anyway, I would have preferred it if the shoulder section was left as it was, and I wasn't a fan of the hip detailing, but if anything, again, it should have been left as it was. Change wasn't for the best this time.

And just as I was beginning to think it was all going to be doom and gloom for Najwa's dresses, Lanvin saved the day! I absolutely adore this one and the changes that have been made, made this green scarf embellished satin gown look immaculate! It had been taken in at the waist, which adds literally everything to the dress, it's not at all exaggerated, it just gracefully shows off her body. Class, chic, elegance and I've found a favourite.

Obviously, she was saving the best 'til last, as she dazzled in this custom made metallic Zuhair Murad gown with sequins cross-sectioned across the front, and the fabric behind the sequins just completed it perfectly. I had been waiting for this kind of dress all season long! This is the kind of dress that I'd associate with Najwa Karam, and I didn't expect anything less for a season finale. Nobody tops Zuhair Murad. Period.
